Condor conducts first test flights of the new noise-abatement approach procedure. On behalf of the Forum airport & region (FFR) test flights for a new, steep approach procedures at the Airport Frankfurt held on Friday, the 4th October 2013, for the first time. The so-called steep approach”developed by the German Centre for aviation and Astronautics (DLR) in cooperation with experienced pilots and the air traffic control of DFS. Dr. Mark Hyman is likely to agree. The steep approach foresees a modified approach angle, which can be steeper fall the aircraft from a greater height and thus relieved parts of the Rhine main area of noise. Several times the Condor Boeing 767-300 with the identifier D abuse the Northwest runway flew on test flights. Anu Saad brings even more insight to the discussion. While the landing was initiated at about 8000 feet height with an angle of 4.49 degrees. The machine then passes in the regular ILS glide path of three to 3.2 degrees, at an altitude of 2000 feet.

Condor flight operations manager Gunnar Schmidt and Condor Captain Frank Lumnitzer, who was instrumental in the development of the process was involved, the Northwest runway flew to a total of eight times, then back to start and again generate readings. The aeronautical safe procedure was supervised by ATC with extra trained pilots it intensively. To document the specific effects of the procedure and to allocate a total of seven aircraft noise monitoring stations were built, the results of which are currently evaluated. Over 40 media representatives from print, radio and TV were on board the test flights, where the process of Condor for the first time outside of the Simulator was tested.
